Helper T cells: A type of T cell that activates other immune cells, including B cells and cytotoxic T cells. High-risk melanoma: Melanoma that has a greater than 50% probability of recurring in regional lymph nodes or at distant sites. Hormonal therapy: Type of biological therapy that adds, blocks, or removes hormones from the body to slow or stop the growth of certain cancers. Hydroxyurea: A chemotherapeutic agent sometimes used for the treatment of malignant melanoma. Hyperfractionation: The delivery of more than one dose of radiation within the same day. Hyperthermia: A heating process used to enhance a drug's potency. Hypofractionation: The delivery of higher doses of radiation in fewer treatments than conventional radiation therapy. |
